At The COPE Center, our mission is to close a longstanding and critical gap in care for injured athletes and performers. Injury is not only a physical experience; it affects identity, confidence, motivation, and the capacity to return to performance. Yet psychological support remains one of the most overlooked components of rehabilitation.

The COPE Center exists to change that.

We provide evidence-based psychological services that strengthen resilience, promote healing, and support a successful return to sport or performance. Our work is rooted in a transdisciplinary model of care [1], where professionals from diverse fields share responsibility for client wellbeing and no challenge is “owned” by a single discipline. By integrating mental skills training, psychoeducation, and collaborative care pathways, we ensure that psychological needs are addressed alongside physical recovery.

Whether we are directly supporting clients or equipping practitioners with tools and strategies to better serve injured performers, we are committed to enhancing communication, elevating care, and ensuring that each client receives comprehensive and coordinated support. And when deeper psychological care is needed, The COPE Center provides clear, trusted referral pathways to ensure clients receive the level of support they deserve.

The COPE Center envisions a future where psychological care is recognized as a fundamental and non-negotiable component of injury rehabilitation and high performance. We strive to transform systems of care so that every performer, whether they be youth, collegiate, elite, or professional, benefits from a cohesive, performer-centered support network.

In this future, transdisciplinary collaboration is the norm. Athletic trainers, physical therapists, dietitians, surgeons, strength coaches, mental health providers, and performance staff work together seamlessly, guided by shared goals and open communication. Rehabilitation is understood not as a series of isolated appointments, but as a unified process that honors the physical, psychological, and emotional dimensions of performance.

By advancing integrated care, we aim to create environments where clients heal more effectively, return to performance with greater confidence, and build long-term resilience that extends far beyond a single injury.
